I attended the White Party a second time this year, three weeks ago.

As I had been overly delighted last year by the White Party, I must admit that I had high expectations for this year but I'm saddened to claim that they haven't been met.

I don't know to what that disappointment should be directly attributed but I think the fact that I needed to be at my tutoring at 9am after pAArtying all night greatly contributed to me feeling all over the place and not-into-the-mood that time.

I don't know what was in the air but it felt as if there has never been as many people present as last year and I also felt like more people were on heavy drugs as a lot of folks seemed far-fetched and outer-spaced! I myself tried speed in order to stay awake and active a tad longer but as I only took half a pill, it only seemed to have made me go berserk and paranoid at everybody approaching me or passing close to me.

I don't know if it's the color -white- that makes the White Party utterly cheesy and of seemingly bad taste but I felt like I was surrounded by no-class folks that were way too happy to pop unknown substances, walk around almost naked and barely know what kind of music, beat or DJ they're dancing to all night long.

This year the most famous DJs to be heard were: Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Steve Angello, Fedde Le Grand and Jochen Miller. The best DJs are usually Dutch and this year we've only had the chance to hear two of'em which added to my disappointment!

Okay I'll stop complaining and give you the hightlight of the night instead of the dark ones: security seemed a lot more efficient this year, restrooms were less packed and cleaner, the dancefloor wasn't as sticky and nasty as last year, there was more hot jocks than last year, people were less dressed than last year and I got to dance the night away with Jizz one more time!

That being said, I'm really not convinced about me purchasing a ticket to attend the White Party next year as the price seems to double every year while my income barely stays constant! Bad economic situation or bad cash management? I dunno!

Song of the Week (une 13th to June 19th)

This week's winner is none other than J.Lo.! Hurray for the Latin bombshell! Even though I find that her last single "On The Floor" is slightly over-rated and getting anoying since it's always playing on the radio, I have to say that J.Lo rocks and that she took the industry by storm with her cumback after giving birth to her twins.

Her new song (the winner), is called "I'm Into You" and could be described as a mellow R&B ballad featuring famed New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Wayne. Not only is this song irresistible and cute, the video is hot and fashionable. J.Lo is seen wearing beautiful gowns, flawless makeup and seems happier and more confident than ever. I was also more than thrilled to see that caliente Cuban chico William Levy is in the clip!

OMFG what a hunky dude he is! I'm so jealous of "La Lopez" to have had the chance to cuddle with this hot poodle. The video also depicts the pyramids of Chichen Itza in Mejico and shows J.Lo dancing in an African tribe-inspired choreography with two black dancers. The only thing that's slightly bothering me is the fact that there is an unsubtle ad for Koma juice and Gucci glasses at the beginning of the clip! Even a blind person could see it since it's so flagrant! Shame on you, J.Lo's financial team! You tried that you could fool us by earning extra penny to feature companies' ad in her clip well you got it wrong, we noticed it and find it anoying!

Rodzilla's First Film Critique

The following five movies are the last ones I have seen in the last two weeks. 

5. "Life As We Know It" (2/10)

Okay I know the über-sexy jock Josh Duhamel is one of the two main protagonists of the film but honestly, this is not enough to support a whole movie; I mean even with your sexiness, you still have to be a good actor.

The story of this very annoying and boring movie evolves around two over-paid Hollywood actors -Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel- who supposedly hate each other but must meet sometimes as their respective best friends are married together.

When their best friends -who are parents to a one year-old  daughter- die, they are both entitled to take care of their beloved daughter, inherit their house and assets. Of course, as they are supposed to hate each other, they resist sexual tension and stuff but eventually fall in love (duh!) and have sex. Sincerely, this is god-awful and I wouldn't recommand it to anyone, regardless of how cheesy they are.

4. "L'Appât" (3/10)

As a proud Québécois that I am, I'm glad to watch some movies of our "cru". But in the case of "L'Appât", it's more shame than proudness that would be felt by any Québécois! Similar to what meine Freundin Nizza told me about the Zombie-themed Norwegian movie "Dead Snow"!

Okay so the movie features Guy A. Lepage and Rachid Badouri as the two main characters who are Super Zeros and are investigating about a killer who actually looks like a black model.

Guy A. Lepage was quite funny in the movie but Rachid Badouri is unbearable! I really hate him! He thinks he's tha shit'n stuff but tha brotha is supposedly an humorist but he ain't funny! Oh and Maxim Roy is the worst actress any camera has ever known!

3. "Karla" (6.5/10)

Based on a true story (Karla Homolka's), Karla is one of Canada's most notorious and dangerous serial killer.

Between 1990 and 1993, Homolka and her beloved psychopath Paul Bernardo kidnapped, raped, tortured and killed several girls  until they were both arrested.

Homolka was wise enough to make a plea bargain and that's mainly why she's been able to get released from jail and embrace full liberation... a thing that should have never been granted!

"Karla" Is a biographical movie and I have to say that it pretty much describes her life well and features somewhat good actors like Laura Prepon and the quite good-looking Misha Collins as the fatal couple.




2. "Agathe Cléry" (9/10)

This movie is really funny and memorable! I wish I could say that I bought it but I'm too cheap! I like French movies!

Okay so the plot of this film is a racist Businesswoman who happens to develop a very rare medical condition: the Addison's disease. Indeed, this disease darkens skin and hair and creates hyper-pigmentation. It's a bit like reverse vitiligo! Presented as a musical, Agathe Cléry turns black and has to modify her whole life and thus, her  life habits. She looses her job, gets discriminated, gets dumped by her boyfriend and needs to find new friends and acquaintances.

Having promised herself not to ever date a black man, Cléry ends up falling in love with her new boss who is played by Anthony Kavanagh (an edible chocolate bar who also acts in Quebec movies). I would highly recommand Agathe Cléry! Especially if like me, you've been dreaming of being black since you were young!

1. "Black Swan" (10/10)

Unlike most University teachers, I'm not one of those people who never give A+ or 100%. I mean when you deserve it, you deserve it. That is definitely the case of "Black Swan"; it is truthfully an awesome movie!

Nathalie Portman, an Israeli-born actress (I love'em Israelians and I'm going to Israël this summer!), plays the role of Nina, an innocent and prude girl who's overprotected by her castrating mother who daydreams about dancing for the New York Company.

Nina's ambition is to be playing the role of the White Swan in Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" ballet. Being a psychological thriller, the movie is a bit hard to understand but I believe it was intended that way as all psychological movies are!

After meeting Lily (Mila Kunis) who would be perfectly fitted to play the Black Swan, Nina unravels a previously-undiscovered dark side to her persona. You MUST watch this movie! Incentive to its screening: the movie won the Academy Award for Best Actress and was nominated for multiple categories including Best Director and Best Picture.
