New Favourite Movie of Mine

For those of you who have been reading my blog since the very beginning, you know I'm a Quentin Tarantino fan.

That being said, I practically watched every movie of his since I first heard of Kill Bill back in 2004 when I was 14! I have been delighted by Pulp Fiction (1995), From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), Planet Terror (2007), Death Proof (2007)Inglorious Basterds (2009) but was utterly disappointed by Reservoir Dogs I must say. I wanted to watch Jackie Brown since a while and finally had the opportunity after joining NetFlixx just recently.

I was agreeably surprised by the acting skills displayed by Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton. Funnily enough, the whole plot concocted by Jackie Brown to steal muhla from Ordell (Jackson) seems way too complicated for nothing but makes for an entertaining and smart executed plan. Wise is the one who organizes such a tremendous, hidden gunfight to recuperate money she brought in from Mexico along with her dignity and freedom. Long live Jackie Brown! Enjoy y'all! Plus I need to point out the fact that the music from the motion picture is incredibly good and am in love with every Jazz joint.

Cultural Sundays

I've been to several cultural events in the last two weeks and I'm really proud of myself! I mean that's something I always like to do and keep on telling myself to do more often but with school and work, I tend not to have time nor energy to get out of my south shore house and do something on my free days. My free days consist in fact of one day in the week, that is sunday. Like in the Medieval time, sundays are sacred for me as I don't work nor have to attend any class. I am therefore available for any of my friends and can therefore bethink myself, enjoy life, let go of my everyday stress, head to the gym, sleep late and attend cultural events!!!

Just last week, I went to the Botanical Garden of Montreal (jardin botanique) and got to see the "lanternes chinoises" exhibit around the Asian section of the garden. I went there accompanied by Merry, Jizz and Laura at night. The spectacle was truthfully magical and it felt like we had been teleported into a fairytale. There were Chinese lanterns scattered around the main pond of the Asian section of the garden and they were pretty motley as there were regular small lanterns that weren't too far in style from regular Western lanterns but there were also some really impressive and massive lanterns that were basically Chinese warriors, plants, trees, carriages and buildings. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my camera! I couldn't pull an Asian tourist out of myself but did find a few beautiful photographs of these images on the web which I'll post down from here. The lanterns had required a necessary six months of  creation to make them as good-looking as they were and had been hand-crafted by Shanghai artists.

We had purchased a bundle deal and had free access to the Insectarium (like an Aquarium but for insects lol) as well so we paid a visit our insect friends who were trapped in boxes (thank God)! What litteraly scared the shit out of me was when we got to see a friggin' Goliath Birdeater Tarantula; these tarantulas are the world's biggest in terms of both size and weight...! I'm not kidding y'all when I say they can measure up to 60cm of width and weigh almost one pound!!! I'm not scared of lizards, snakes, crocodiles, sharks or scorpions but I get frightened shitless when I see tarantulas. I don't know why they're so scary. Perhaps it's because they're really ugly and disgusting and look like they're gonna jump in yo face and eat you! I know they could never eat us but they look aggressive and mean lol! Jizz seemed even more scared than me which I'm glad of as I would pass for a pussy if there hadn't been someone more scared than me with us lol! I hadn't been to the Insectarium in ages but realized I had been missing on a lot of stuff as it's really entertaining and captivating to know some facts about insects. Some of them are incredibly colorful and beautiful while some others are quite smart at building nests such as termites.

Laura and I hadn't really spent much time together before that evening but got along fairly well. I like her and still don't understand why Mahmud -remember him?!- doesn't want to admit to her that he's gay. To make a long story short, they're both Lebanese and their families know each other. That being said, Mahmud doesn'want everybody in his family and other Baklavas he knows to get to learn about his homosexuality. I guess he's not going to befriend this gang anymore. I also got to learn he moved out of his parents' and now lives with a friend. I couldn't care less as the dude seems paranoid and crazy. I guess I was out of my mind when I thought of him as a potential date!

Anyways, back to my cultural sundays, I decided that from now on I would always do an interesting and enriching activity on sundays so that I get to learn stuff, enjoy the city of Montreal (in another way than just taking the subway, being harassed by homeless people and going to school), gather with friends and take it easy. Sundays are sacred, Amen on that!

Formula 1 Weekend

This week's winner is a song that I've heard on the radio at around 2 am on friday, June 10th after I attended the "Mondial de la Bière de Montréal" (which is Montreal's Beer Fest). That day, I had roamed through Montreal's "Vieux Port", downtown and gay village with my friend Billa as he was visiting from Denmark and wanted to have some "sightseeing". What he actually meant by sightseeing didn't solely imply seeing all the landmarks with his eyes; it also involved manhunting in the streets of Montreal lol!

My friend Bill is one hell of an entertaining bastard and I love him for that but OMFG! I've never met anyone who talks as much as he does!  Everybody's been repeating to me since I was a lil' boy that I talk too much and that I never stop but trust me, I'm an amateur compared to him lol! He's pretty much the only person with whom I could spend a whole day and never utter one single word because I would never be given the chance to! No wonder he's been able to learn so many languages; he talks all the goddamn time! Bill is from Cameroon and speaks several dialects from his country including Pidgin and also French, English, Swedish and Danish (he lives in Denmark and has lived in Sweden too).

Anyways, back to my anecdote, last June 10th, Montreal was densely packed with tons and tons of tourists from around the world who had all gathered on the island to attend the annual Formula 1 race, the Beer Festival, the French Music one (FrancoFolies), the Rihanna concert and multiple other venues! I'm not even skimping when I'm sayin' the whole city was PACKED with people!!! I could hardly breathe lol. Surprisingly, I still managed to be lucky enough to find a very nice parking slot at the corner of St-Catherine and Crescent lol! Can you believe?! That was a feat!

As I was a bit tired of Bill and his bro' Romeo after dinner, I decided to do anything I could not to bring them with me to the Beer festival that I was supposed to attend with Merry and Cherryka. To be completely honest, as much as I do like Bill, I'm a bit ashamed of having slept with him as he's not super attractive and way over-the-top. He's just too much for me! So I didn't really want to present him to my new friends (Merry & Cherryka) as I was afraid of what they'd think of me. Sometimes one gets scared to be thought of as a whore for having slept with not-so-hot dudes! Damn that's bad! So I was smart enough to tell Bill's friend Romeo that I wasn't very comfortable to bring them along with me since my friends were all gay (huge lie) and that I didn't think they'd be at ease with them lol!!! Romeo was like damn brotha I completely undastand and respectcha so that's fine, enjoy yo nite! LOLLL I'm a funny liar! Just like the fact that I still haven't told my parents that I'm going to Israel (they believe I'm going to Turkey!) lol.

When I got to the Beer fest, Merry & Cherryka had been nice enough to buy me beer coupons so that I could start getting drunk right after entering the Place Bonaventure. Crap was there so much beer and people everywhere! It was out-of-this-world! The three of us had like eight uptakes which included red beer, brown beer, blond beer, white beer, green apple Sangria, Cranberry cider, Grapefruit cooler and white wine!!! Lol it was way too much for my lanky body! When we left (at 10 pm), I was way too tipsy or drunk I don't know which one. A few minutes before the fest finished (it finished early not to be a nuisance to the business activities of other bars in the surroundings), we met my friend Arial whom I know from University and was waitressing during the fest. She offered us some free beer which was -let's be honest- the top of the icing that led me to loose my mind lol!

She said she was super nervous because she was working, was drunk and was crazy about her new flame who was mulatto and measured 6'5". She said he was her perfect match 'cause she's tall and he's tall too and that he was supposedly sexy. Merry, Cherryka and I were all ecstatic and excited to drink some more beer and meet the much talked about dude until we looked around and saw a 6'5" mulatto guy with a loose body, an MIA jaw and pepperoni-shaped nipples! OMG we were stunned to realize that he was indeed her new flame and that he wasn't sexy or wetting at all lolll!!! We all laughed and gossiped about him until he left and she asked us what we thought about him. Our lovely trio responded by jeez! He's got pepperonis!

Arial didn't find it funny at all and said she liked him and that he was fit for her and that she didn't know what to text him as she wanted to try her luck. We then headed to the closest McDonald's, not without limping everywhere and acting clumsy. When we got to the McDough, I made a real pig of myself and ordered a double Big Mac trio with a poutine instead of the fries and a McFlurry. We then talked and talked for hours gossipping about everything and that was what I can call good times! I like lying down at a table with friends, stuffing my face, gossip about guys (and girls lol), talk about sex and burp lol!

We then drove back to the South shore at 2 am  while listening to the radio and that's when we heard this week's winner song which you'll discover in my next article.

Oh and I didn't attend F1 nor the FrancoFolies yet, but my father attended F1 and it poured grasshoppers lol! I think I'm more interested to see the Jean-Paul Gaultier exposition and the Chinese army!

Song of the Week (April 2nd to April 7th)

As it is the elections today in Canada, I'm feeling quite nationalist but toward Québec, not Canada (lol)!

That's why this week's chosen song is still in French and features hot and talented Montréal-based artist Mistress Barbara. I love this song of hers; "Et Il Bat". This brand new single is also featured in Telus ads.

I'll tell you right away that despite being a supporter of our beautiful province and its culture and being proud when claiming that I'm a Quebeccer, I did not vote for the Bloc Québécois...! I just thought it would be too utopic and felt like Jack Layton was a much better leader than Gilles Duceppe. I'm so sorry! That's why I voted for the New Democratic Party (or Nouveau Parti Démographique in French).

Whatever happens, I'm praying that fucking douche Stephen Harper doesn't get re-elected! I HATE HIM with all my heart! The dude is a fucking dumb bastard with redneck beliefs and a rowdy attitude. He's the worst thing that's ever happened to Canada. I'm guessing the only people who vote for him are the cowboys from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba; nobody (almost) in Québec would be disgusting enough to vote for him!

Anyways, enough bullying, now enjoy the song of the week!

Bal en Blanc

Last week I attended the infamous “Bal en Blanc” at Montreal’s Palais des Congrès accompanied by two hot mamas: Jizz and Fabulous Andy.

As part of the celebrations for Easter, the Montrealers (les Montréalais) love to stop by the Palais des Congrès and party all night long while dancing to some international DJs. This HUGE rave party is hosted annually and is always taking place at the Congress Center of Montreal which is rented for the occasion. Each year since 1994, the Bal en Blanc is highly anticipated and some 15,000 attendees purchase tickets ranging between 85$ and up to 150$ to enjoy this night of debauchery. The event features two rooms: the trance room and the main room. This year's edition featured famed Dutch DJ Tiësto, Above and Beyond, Freemasons, Uppercut, Armand van Helden, Yinon Yahel (from Israel) and Markus Schulz among others. It was insane!!!

I've been hearing about how big and crazy the Bal en Blanc is since I'm 18 years old and allowed to drink and go out but have never planned to attend it until this year. It all started when Terrine talked to our friends and me about her desire to buy tickets for it and we all agreed that it would be an awesome idea. Therefore, St-Lawrence, Fabulous Andy, Terrine, Jizz and I all bought tickets for it at a relatively cheap price (90$) back in december. We were all scheduled to meet there until St-Lawrence claimed he didn't wanna go anymore since he had exams during the next week (we all did) and Terrine didn't want to go because she didn't want to end up seeing her ex or other acquaintances from her University (Sherbrooke) as she had skipped her semester because of her depression. I could pretty much understand both of them and their reasons but I was nontheless pretty disappointed by their no-show.

Anyways, that being said, I still managed to have a hell of a good time! I want to reassure you by telling you I supprisingly didn't do any drugs (hurray) and kept myself awake by drinking Red Bull and other energy drinks and shit. I actually think I drank too much of'em because at one point, my heart was beating incredibly fast, I was feeling dizzy and weird and began to be paranoid and freaked because of all the odd-looking people around me. I then told Jizz and Fabulous Andy who both told me I might have had too many Red Bull and that there was a limit not to exceed and that I must have had exceeded it! I didn't take any more Red Bull afterward!!! We arrived there at around half past midnight and stayed until half past five! That's a lot! Fabulous Andy and I remained sober but Jizz popped a pill of speed. She was outstandingly energized and high and was about to dance and pop all night.

Just like the name implies, the Ball is actually intended to have all the attendees dressed in white and also have everybody all coked up by the end of the night! Reinforced by high degree of security and vigilance, we had to pass the security guards and be checked, all of this by taking off our shoes and being searched. It was pretty freaky to say the least, and I really felt like passing through security check at an airport. After I was dancing on the dancefloor and taking notice of all the craziness happening, I was more than happy to know there was plenty of security and resources on hand since I started thinking about how crazy stuff could happen such as a rape, a huge fight, stabbing or any other freaky shit! Lemme tell you that the people who had taken ecstacy weren't so ecstatic to watch; their eyes were popping out, they were cringin' their teeth, looked pale, were shaking and looked weirder than monsters in scary movies lol!

There were plenty of cute and edible brothas over there which included one hot jock from my Marketing class who was there shirtless and who was wearing nothing but pants and suspenders (yum) lol! I also saw another hot dude that I was eyeing up back at Cégep. Oh and as for Tiësto, we were extremely disappointed by his performance; his music was sucky and the room where he played was packed way too much and it was impossible to dance there and have fun. That's why we spent most of our night in the trance room dancing to Cosmic Gate and Sander van Doorn. Oh and I need to tell you there were some scantily clad hunks dancing on a lil' stage wearing nothing but g-strings and their ripped bodies who definitely had some enhancing packs increasing the size of their booties. It's so funny since it would have been obvious even for a blind person standing three kilometers away from them!!!

We left the "ball" at around 5:30 and went back to the South shore straight to have breakfast at a cheap resto. We were too tired to stay there until 8 am to hear Freemasons! Furthermore, I think the Bal en Blanc is a "must" for young shiznit living in the Montreal area and I'm definitely going back next year!!! Plus the flyers advertising it always feature horny photos of hot guys like Vincent Laroche lol!

Song of the Week (April 25th to May 1st)

Okay this week is quite something for me as it is my last week of exams and I can't take it anymore!!! So I'm posting some mellow song as our "song of the week" to cool down the atmosphere around us students around the world. We all need it I guess!

This week's winner is "Jamais Su" by Quebec improvised rapper Anodajay. The song is his second single off his album ET7ERA. The tracks features a sample from Diane Tell's '80s success "Souvent, Longtemps, Énormément". I decided that being the proud Quebeccer that I am, I might share with you some music from my homeland. I hope you'll like it, I like the vibe of it and love the chorus with Diane Tell and find that the rest of the song blends fairly well with Tell's cameo. The lyrics say it all about my love life:

Moi j'ai aimé trop souvent,
aimé longtemps puis énormément,
Et je les ai tous perdus,
Car comment aimer, je ne l'ai jamais su

Oh and I find the music video quite hip with its '80s apparel and the definition of the image! And don't miss Dinae Tell's apparition at the end of it :-P! I The orange skin tone of the girls in the clip is quite funny; makes me think of Ed Hardy, douchebags and their bitches lol! Seems like the clip was shot at Mont Saint-Bruno lol!

"Anatomy of a Murder" (Anatomy of Hot Male Models)

Damn! I just bumped into THAT! How hot'n raunchy?! It is actually a photoshoot done by famed Fashion photographer Steven Klein  whose clients include Arena Hommes, Dolce & Gabbana, Vogue Hommes Japan, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, American Vogue, Colcci, Vogue Paris and much, much more.

Klein, who is actually not "small" in the business (klein = small in German) and specializes in male photography and depicts very homoerotic visuals. I do have to say that I LOVE his work and find his portfolio über impressive. I like the fact that his photos are not too cliché, are dark and disturbing but yet succeed at showcasing a hint of sensuality by blending manhood and love of the male body.

The following photoshoot, which is entitled "Anatomy of a Murder" is quite epic and displays a very bothering pictural remake of the 1959 movie of the same name. The spread features Brian Shimansky, Kevin Baker, Zeb Ringle and Montréal zombie-turned-male model Rick Genest. The photos are reminescent of Alfred Hitchcock's black and white movies and still has something that reminds us of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". I guess the weird clothing, the odd-looking hairdo and the light projection on the models' faces give that effect. "Anatomy of a Murder" is a special edition of the Arena Hommes+ for its Spring/Summer 2011 issue.

Enjoy!!!

I'm glad one of the models didn't shave his pubic hair!
Looks so much more masculine!

So gay
