Prince William's Wedding and Modern Monarchy

As we ALL know, the whole planet was busy watching tv last thursday morning to see Prince William of Wales's wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.

At first I was confused about all the fuss surrounding that ceremony and I found it quite obnoxious that people would be so enthusiastic about it since it's only a marriage between two relatively unknown people who are not famous for being gifted with a particular talent other than having royal blood streaming in their veins. Of course, we all knew that it would be such a huge event and that Kate Middleton went from being a nobody to a potential future Queen. I guess the whole British people was moved by such special circumstances.

I have to say that despite the fact that Prince William used to be somewhat cute back when he was 20 years old, he's getting uglier and uglier as he grows old. Let's start by mentionning his lack of hair, huge teeth, long nose and weird mouth shape. The prince definitely has a "trout pout" and a not-so-pretty smile. Poor Kate! Let's hope she really is in love with him and won't go through all the same drama Lady Di experienced with the not-so-sexy Prince Charles!

I have to say that even if I despise Prince William and the Queen and pretty much everybody in the royal family, I worship Prince Harry! I mean he's so cute and adorable! I'm slowly beginning to fantasize about him lol! How cheesy?! It's so shameful but hey, me loves redheads! I wish he was gay!

Anyways, let's focus on the main topic of my article: monarchy. Does it really belong in the 21st century?! Like is it still something we should consider as a political system?! Just look at the Frenchies who executed Marie-Antoinette and their last King back in 1793; they got rid of monarchy pretty quick right? Maybe the Brits should have done the same...! My point is do you really find the Queen interesting or useful? What does she do aside from having tea all day long with other wealthy and noble people? Queens, Kings and Princes are not really involved in political decisions anymore, their roles are quite only about honorary titles and stuff. I don't think it's that bad a thing but it's sure not something we need. Everybody knows that they paid the wedding with the people's taxes so it's not even as if they would use their own fortune to afford it, it's quite a calamity, don'tchu think?!

My other big concern about this whole fiasco is the fact that all Princes and other nobles solely marry with other noble people to keep royal blood and stuff. That means they discriminate us, "normal" people. Of course in the case of Kate Middleton, that was an exception but still, it's pretty much the first time it happens and people still put a lot of emphasis on the fact that she might be crowned as "Queen of England and the Commonwealth". Not only do these royal fellows rarely marry outside their circle of nobility, they usually only marry other individuals who were born in the same country and are of the same religion and ethnicity. Honestly, would you imagine an European Prince marrying a black girl of any origin? Or a muslim, a jew or a Buddhist? I don't really think they are socially-advanced up to that point. Similar to the Pope and the Vatican, their beliefs and mores are of the past and do not cling to contemporary philosophies.

I'm digging deeper and deeper into the plague of royalty and all the scandals related to that and I'm aiming for a specific target: Homosexuality. What if a Prince is gay? Even though gay marriage has been legalized in countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and many others, these countries still have monarchs. Therefore, my question is: why are casual folks granted with such liberal rights and their royal counterparts should not? The latters actually bribe their own rights by imposing such molds to who can marry who and the how to determine who can be crowned Prince, Queen, King, etc.

Back to the gay thing, imagine a Swedish Prince finds out that he's homosexual and that he wants to fully live his life as a gay man, which implies that he wants to marry another man (per say). Although that sounds a bit peculiar, who knows; it could happen. Okay so let's say he wants to marry another man, whether his partner is of royal blood or not, what would that lead to? They would get married and both become Princes or Kings?! Could you have two Kings at the same time?! The same thing could happen for a lesbian Princess. Do you think one day things could evolve in that sense?! I'm very skeptical but I wish they would consider these matters eventually because as time goes by and as people become more and more open-minded, these sort of things will have to be discussed and accepted. You know what I'm sayin'?!

Anyways, enjoy the pics of the wedding and especially, the sexy Prince Harry:

Ouhlala
I think this pic is a fake but still,
it's nice to imagine him with such a hot body!
P.S.: My friends Terrine and Cherry both watched the entire wedding ceremony starting at 4 am here in Montreal, how crazy?! Oh and Cherry actually didn't sleep during the whole night since she went clubbing with me and headed straight to Terrine's house to watch the royal wedding with her! How fucked up?! I would've never done that; I prefer to sleep than watch such a cheesy thing!
